Hill House, the larger of our two homes, is situated in a beautiful, rural location in Kenley and can accommodate up to sixty residents.
Originally a large family home, Hill House was founded in 1954 and has been architecturally enhanced through a purpose-built extension in 1990 and a newly refurbished suite of six deluxe rooms in 2014. With contemporary décor and plenty of natural light and space, Hill House has a hotel feel and tends to be the more active of our two homes.
Our registered manager, Pam Follwell, manages Hill House with the oversight of the owners. Also based here full-time are our catering manager, Rodney Balraj, and our activities and entertainment coordinator.
Resident's family member
Westside, our second property, is a welcoming home from home in Purley with accommodation for up to thirty residents.
Founded in 1968, Westside is a former Doctor’s home that has been extended to provide facilities for residents requiring care, en-suite bedrooms, two lounges and a dining room. Westside is decorated in a warm, contemporary style and has good transport links with Purley town very close-by.
Our registered manager, Mary Sogeler, manages this care home day-to-day with the support of the owners.
Resident's family member
We offer a variety of different sized bedrooms including single, single en-suite and double en-suite for couples who wish to share. All are tastefully furnished in muted colours and we encourage our residents to make their living space their own, with personal items and photos.
Bedrooms are provided with:
- A wireless call bell system, which can be near to hand at all times
- A flat screen television
- A telephone socket if required
- A suitable bed to meet your nursing needs
- An armchair and table
- Bedroom furniture
Our housekeeping staff ensure that bedrooms and shared spaces are kept clean on a daily basis, and also carry out a personal laundry service.
Please contact us for further information about our current rates and availability, and to arrange a visit.
Menus are carefully planned to offer a varied and nutritious choice, and are all prepared onsite by our skilled chefs and catering assistants, taking into account individual preferences. Our catering manager Rodney Balraj manages our catering team and makes a point of visiting new residents to find out their dietary requirements.
Our chefs like to provide a silver service to those who wish to eat in the dining room, and they are also able to accommodate residents who prefer to take room service instead.
We cater for all special dietary requirements and are happy for residents to invite guests to join them for a meal.
Other facilities & Activities
We invite our residents to socialise with one another as much as they wish and offer in-house facilities and activities to cater for all tastes.
Both of our homes have shared spaces for residents to enjoy outside of their own private bedrooms, including a dining room, a lounge, a quiet room for reading or reflection and a large garden. Each home offers hairdressing facilities, and newspapers can be delivered. Hill House has a small shop for personal items and Wi-Fi is available in our main lounges and some suites. All areas and gardens within the homes are wheelchair accessible.
Our entertainment coordinator tailors activities to the abilities and preferences of those participating. Some of our residents’ favourites include one-to-one conversation with staff; group discussions about current affairs; crosswords, jigsaw puzzles and board games such as Snap, Scrabble and Chess; gentle exercise classes to music; stimulating art and craft therapy sessions; and cookery, flower arranging and gardening demonstrations.
We also host parties for residents and their families in the Summer and at Christmas. Residents are free to travel out with family and friends, as long as staff are made aware of the arrangements. We regularly hold “Residents’ Views” meetings where residents and their families can put forward suggestions and have a say in the running of the homes.
