We are extremely proud of the high standards of care provided by our staff, and delighted that many have chosen to continue working with us for much of their careers.

Hill House Care Home, (originally Hill House Nursing Home), has been owned and operated since 1954 by the same family. They also run Westside Care Home (formerly Westside Nursing Home) in Purley, established in 1968.

Both homes specialise in providing a high standard of nursing care to the physically frail older person by offering the following services of care: - long term, terminal, palliative, intermediate, short term, respite, convalescent, as well as day care.

Our managers at Hill House and Westside are valued members of our team, and each leads a dedicated staff of nurses and health care assistants. We also have a team of domestic assistants who ensure that all facilities within the homes are clean, hygienic and infection-free, and laundry staff who provide a personal service for our residents.

We go to great lengths to ensure that our residents feel at home with us, and encourage individuals to continue to enjoy life’s little pleasures as much as they feel able to. To this end, we have talented catering teams across both homes, as well as full-time activities coordinators and hospitality staff.

Hill House and Westside are accredited by the Gold Standard Framework for End of Life Care since 2009, and continue through re-accreditation to hold Platinum status for excellent high-quality care and support for people with terminal and palliative needs. This nationally recognised program enables residents and their families the opportunity to be involved in their advance care planning. We are supported and work in conjunction with St Christopher’s Hospice staff and specialists in palliative care, following an approved and recognised system, GSF, for end of life care.

We believe in placing the emphasis on “COMFORT WITH CARE” by enriching and enhancing the quality of the lives of our residents. Our aim is to become a centre of excellence for elderly care within the South East region and embracing “living well until you die”.

CAREERS IN CARE

Could you be an Activities Coordinator?

In simple terms, an activities co-ordinator is someone who schedules, plans, and helps implement various activities in senior living facilities. Many people focus on the “care” aspect of a senior community without considering the importance of extracurricular activities. In truth, it’s these activities that stimulate residents the most. Activities can be spiritual, active, or creative in nature and cater to physical, mental, social, and emotional development.

Your role might include talking with people about the types of things they'd like to do, facilitating activities that are tailored to the needs and abilities of individuals, as well as group activities that will bring individuals together.

One to one interaction for example, chatting, reading the newspaper, reminiscing, manicures, playing cards or doing a jigsaw together.

We value each and every one of our employees and offer competitive rates of pay and an individualised training & mentoring program.
