SPECIALISTS IN ADULT NURSING AND PERSONAL CARE

From your initial visit, our staff will begin to form a picture of the type of care required. Together, we will create a personalised plan supported by an initial assessment and, if appropriate, a hospital visit to understand any specific medical requirements prior to admission.

We are extremely proud of the level of care offered at our Homes, with a high ratio of nurses and carers per resident. Typically we have a ratio of 1 carer for every 4 residents, and a dedicated nurse on each floor. We also manage these ratios depending on the needs of our residents. Please see the types of care offered at our Homes below…

LONG-TERM CARE

Meeting the medical and non-medical requirements of residents who are no longer able to look after themselves, over a sustained period of time.

RESPITE & REHABILITATION CARE

Providing temporary relief to those who are caring for family members. Our rehabilitation programme helps to prepare people to move back into their homes, typically after a hospital stay.

PALLIATIVE CARE

Providing specific medical care and nursing intervention to those who need it.

DAY CARE

Providing facilities and daily activities, to give temporary relief to carers and family members.

END OF LIFE CARE

Giving comfort and a preferred place of care, avoiding the need for hospital admission.

GENERAL SUPPORT

We also offer residents the following services, as required: GP’s, physiotherapy; domiciliary dentist; optician; chiropody; church ministers; alternative therapies; and hairdressing.

“To trust other people to care for our mum was not a decision we made lightly. Not only did you care for mum, your care also extended to the rest of our family. No matter what time of day or night, you helped us when we needed advice, comforted us, reassured us and more than any of these, we felt accepted into Westside as part of your family, even homing us when mum's final days were nigh”

CARE HOME STAFF

We are extremely proud of the high standards of care provided by our staff, and delighted that many have chosen to continue working with us for much of their careers.

Our managers at Hill House and Westside are valued members of our team, and each leads a dedicated staff of nurses and health care assistants. We also have a team of domestic assistants who ensure that all facilities within the homes are clean, hygienic and infection-free and laundry staff who provide a personal service for our residents.

We go to great lengths to ensure that our residents feel at home with us, and encourage individuals to continue to enjoy life’s little pleasures as much as they feel able to. To this end, we have a talented head chef, Rodney, who works across both homes and manages our skilled catering teams. We also have full-time activities and entertainment coordinators at both homes, who caters to all tastes and abilities.
